The National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) Announces our 2019 Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) of the Year. Congratulations!! Jean Francois Belizaire.
Jean 'Francois' Belizaire, CDP, has been awarded the 2019 CNA of the Year Award by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. Established in 2003, the NCCDP's CNA of the Year Awards Program honors one CNA, PCA, HHA, and/or GNA who is a CDP in good standing and has met the state criteria to hold their certification and provides exemplary services to the most vulnerable older Americans. Certified nursing assistants work in nursing homes, assisted living communities, adult day care programs, hospitals, home care agencies, hospice agencies, psychiatric facilities, rehabilitation centers, government agencies, associations, and learning institutions. This year NCCDP received hundreds of nominations from around the country.
Francois Belizaire is employed at Barrington Terrace of Naples, a part of the Arbor Company. Barrington Terrace is one of the only, if not the only, assisted living communities in Florida that has a specialized Palliative/Hospice neighborhood, known as Reflections. Francois is a well-respected member of the team on the specialized neighborhood. He is the Lead Resident Care Assistant of the neighborhood and is the primary contact for families and residents in Reflections.
Francois Belizaire is often nominated as The Arbor Star, an employee of the month/quarter/year program, and his administration says, "we treasure the experience, dedication, and outstanding commitment to resident care and comfort that Francois provides to our residents every day." Francois Belizaire's outstanding reputation as the lead Resident Care Assistant inspired many of his colleagues and the families of residents he cares for, to submit nominations for their valued coworker. Perhaps one of the best testaments came from Barrington Terrace at Naples Executive Director, Tammy DeCaro, CADDCT®. "The success of Reflections is largely due to Francois interacting daily with these residents for their care needs, engagement needs, and dining needs. His experience in hospice has been invaluable in providing exceptional care."
Francois received the CNA of the Year award in November at Barrington Terrace. NCCDP' Chief Operating Officer, Lynn Biot Gordon, and President, Rhonda Brand, joined by Commissioner Donna Fiala, Sheriff Kevin Rambosk, and the corporate representatives of Arbor Company John Schaum, Regional Operations; Marsha Van Hook, Regional Clinical Director; and Julie Hull, Regional Marketing Director. Tammy DeCaro, Executive Director of Barrington Terrace, and fellow team members, to present the CNA of the year award to Belizaire.
The NCCDP would like to applaud the valued commitment of Jean 'Francois' Belizaire. Francois "demonstrates compassionate and person-centered careâ€
