The National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners Course: Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care seminar.

This is the required course for those who are seeking certification as a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP). If you are not seeking certification, come to the class to learn new information!

The dementia curriculum includes an overview of dementia, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, communication, feelings, depression, repetitive behaviors, paranoia, hallucinations, wandering, hoarding, aggressive behaviors, catastrophic reactions, intimacy, sexuality, personal care, bathing, dressing, toileting, nutrition, pain, activities, environment, staff and family support, diversity, cultural competence, spiritual care, end of life issues.

All health care professionals, front-line staff, CNAs, home health aides, activity professionals, social workers, nurses, rehab professionals, administrators, Dementia Unit Managers and or Supervisors who provide direct supervision of a dementia unit, or anyone who works with dementia clients in all health care and home care settings.
