The Certified First Responder – Dementia Trained certification (CFR-DT) is recommended for First Responders, Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, EMT, Prison and Corrections Personnel, Emergency Response Teams, National Security/TSA, Red Cross and Salvation Army Volunteers and all others who respond as front line rescue and support workers.
This version of the NCCDP Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia Care Seminar is designed for First Responders and open to all individuals interested in furthering their dementia education. This seminar is also the required 'live' seminar for those individuals who would like to pursue certification as a Certified First Responder - Dementia Trained (CFR-DT). Participants will receive a Handout Notebook and a CFR-DT application is also provided. Participants will have 30 days to submit their application to NCCDP for consideration for certification.
Dementia curriculum includes: Overview of dementia, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, communication, feeling, sexuality, environmental influences, recognizing abuse in the home & family, driving concerns related to dementia, diversity, cultural competence, end of life issues and spiritual care.
