The comprehensive ADDC curriculum includes:

Module 1: Introduction to Dementia: Diagnosis, Prognosis, Treatment, Statistics, Screening Tests, Assessment Tools

Module 2: Communication

Module 3: Feelings and Repetitive Behaviors

Module 4: Wandering, Hoarding, Paranoia, and Hallucinations

Module 5: Intimacy, Sexuality, Aggressive Behaviors and Catastrophic Reactions

Module 6: Depression and Repetitive Behaviors

Module 7: Personal Care: Pain, Nutrition, Bathing, Dressing, Toileting, Eating, Swallowing and Sleep Disturbances and Falls. Please note for this module, all information will be provided in the handouts but we will only review in class the Nutrition and Pain modules.  

Module 8: Activities, Activity Dementia Calendar, and Sensory Enrichment Calendar. Activities Make Them Meaningful.

Module 9: Environment: Changes that Make a Difference.

Module 10: Staff and Family Support

Module 11: Stress and the Caregiver, Abuse, and Neglect

Module 12: Multicultural Considerations

Module 13: Pastoral Care and Preparing for End of Life

 

What is included:

Upon completion of this seminar, you as an NCCDP Certified Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Trainer CADDCT will be able to offer the NCCDP Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care seminar at your place of employment or market private seminars for a fee in any state you choose. You will not be teaching a Certified Dementia Practitioner class nor the Certified Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Trainer class. You will be presenting at minimum the 8-hour live in-person Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care curriculum. You are an independent contractor and you do not work for the NCCDP.

  • ADDC PowerPoint Curriculum on Memory Stick - Instructor Manual in Note Format (which can never be copied nor distributed)
  • Master Student Hand Out Notebook (All your students will be required to have)
  • Text Books (Books include these topics: communication, environment, diagnosis)
  • Video on Sexuality on a memory stick (Intimacy and Aging: Issues and Answers for Long Term Care and Home Care Staff. 24-minute video)
  • Pretest / Posttest to provide to your employees only if your company requires a test
  • Tips for Presenters
  • Tips for Marketing
  • Sample Brochure
  • Sample Sign-in Sheet
  • Sample class Certificate
  • How to obtain CEU's
  • Where to obtain databases
  • How to market the class and fees to charge
  • Certification as a CDP and CADDCT

Upon completion of this seminar, you as an NCCDP Certified Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Trainer CADDCT will be able to offer the NCCDP Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care seminar at your place of employment or in any state you choose. You will not be teaching a Certified Dementia Practitioner class nor the Certified Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Trainer class.

  1. Refresher course
    At any time you are welcome to attend a CADDCT class if you feel you need a refresher course. There is no charge but please let NCCDP know you are coming and bring your course materials.

  2. New Materials
    Every two years (even), NCCDP updates the ADDC curriculum. You will receive several e-mail notifications. At this point, you will discontinue using the curriculum and purchase a new curriculum.

 

All applicants will be required to sign an Instructor Licensee Agreement. There are two homework assignments that will be sent to you and must be completed and returned to the NCCDP corporate office prior to your CADDCT seminar. The assignments will be explained in your confirmation packet.

 

SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED

The ADDC curriculum is updated every two years or as needed. You are required to purchase new training materials. All trainers are notified via email notifications.

As a trainer you will need the following supplies in order to present the ADDC curriculum:

  • Laptop with speakers and the ability to play a video on a memory stick.
  • Projector
  • Speakers
  • Extension cords
  • Cart
  • Screen

Renewal: CADDCT renewal is every two years. You will need 10 contact hours every two years. If you are presenting the ADDC seminar, you can provide a certificate of attendance to yourself and submit for your required 10 contact hours. You are not required to present the ADDC curriculum in order to renew your CADDCT certification. When you renew your CADDCT certification, the CDP credential is included. You will receive a renewal notification via email and in the mail.
